As we walked around in it for awhile looking through various books I started yelling for some sort of assistance. This did seem to be a store although there was a lack of an attendant or a cash register. The next store over was a police station believe it or not so it couldn't have been there giant store full of books.

Seeing that nobody was going to stop us from perusing this room I started opening up boxes in the back labeled "Comics". Then we thought of the possibilities of us just walking out to my car with armfuls of books. Jared and I would have to walk across a parking lot filled with police squad cars and the occasional police officer sitting up against one.
A police officer saw us hanging outside the store and asked what we were doing. I nervously said that I didn't know who ran this store and I'd like to buy things out of it. I think she was interested too. She and I walked to closed Books where I finally saw the sign for the giant strip mall sized book sale they were going to have that weekend. The cop didn't seem mad. She actually seemed excited about the sale and let us be.
I went back into the stock room and hid a stack of things I wanted to buy at the sale that weekend. I figured somebody would snatch up some of the titles I had saved for myself.

In retrospect this story doesn't really seem that interesting now. But when Jared and I stumbled across that room it was like a magical book utopia with no masters. We were probably in there unwatched for at least an hour before we thought about leaving. I like the idea of business's accidentally leaving their doors unlocked not so I could not really steal but just so I could wander around.
I did this once in elementary school. I left a math book in class and had to retrieve it around 7:pm. I rode my bike to the school and the front doors were locked. So I went to the side door that lead to the fourth grade hall and got in no problem. The lights to my classroom were off but I managed to get to my desk and grab my book. I then decided since I was already I might as well wander around for a bit. I looked in other lights out classrooms, went across the hall to my old 3rd grade haunts and snuck by the library where there was a meeting going on.
On my ride home I planned out the third Home Alone movie in my head. Home Alone 3: Trapped in School.
The plot would have gone as such:
Kevin and his bully get in trouble for fighting and are sent to the principles office the day before winter vacation starts. Kevin's mom says that if he gets in trouble again he has to move schools.
After the principles office the bully tells Kevin that he's going to find him after school and pound him.
After school gets out Kevin see's the bully and hides in a trashcan scared out of his mind. And falls asleep. How does he fall asleep in a trashcan you ask? I don't know, I was nine.
Kevin wakes up when the school is closed for the winter break and does his usual walk around. He thinks about it and does his classic running around and messing up everything. Later Harry and Marv show up to rob the school of who knows. Kevin sets up traps (which i diagrammed after my school) and the bully ends up saving him from Harry and Marv at the end.
I know. Predictable and repetitive. But it still would have been better than the real Home Alone 3.
I guess I went off topic.
Hopefully this will all explain things next time your with me anywhere and I always check closets to see if they're locked.
Yikes, I'm about to work at a hospital...
